More Than Skin Deep

Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery is more available now than ever before.  And while more people are having it done, there is still a negative stigma attached to it. But did you know that there are real health benefits to having plastic surgery?

Eyes and Nose?

As you age, the skin around your eyes may get droopy and saggy. Not only does this affect your appearance, it can also affect your vision. Excess skin can block your peripheral vision and make your eyes feel heavy and tired.  An eye lift, or blepharoplasty, can open your vision and make your eyes and face appear younger.

If you have trouble breathing, you may have a deviated septum. A plastic surgeon can repair your nose (and straighten it at the same time!) allowing you to breathe more normally AND feel more confident in your appearance.

Breast Reductions and Tummy Tucks

Excess weight or skin on your torso can cause serious back and neck pain. Breast Reduction surgery will not only alleviate the discomfort of carrying the extra weight in your breasts, but can also increase your self esteem!  Many women carry a little chub in their tummies after having kids or after menopause, creating lower back and even hip pain.  A tummy tuck eliminates the excess and the pain.  Decreased pain levels mean increased activity levels, and more often than not, an increased level of satisfaction in your life!

Size Matters

When you think of plastic surgery, breast implants might be the first thing to pop into your head. In reality, there are lots of reasons a woman might decide she needs to have her breasts reduced in size.  Even celebrities are having breast reductions! Queen Latifa, Patricia Heaton, Sharon Osbourne, and Drew Barrymore have been open about having breast reduction surgery and how it has benefited each of their lives.

Bigger Isn’t Always Better

Breast tissue can be some of the most dense tissue in your body. The more there is, the heavier it becomes causing back and neck pain. Some other problems you may have:

  • • Bra Shopping: Difficult and sometimes embarrassing!
  • • Groovy Shoulders: Even bras that fit well can leave dents in your shoulders.
  • • Hard To Fit Clothes: Dresses and shirts – especially button downs – never fit right. The size for your body is too tight across your chest. If you size up to fit your breasts, the garment hangs and sags, making you feel frumpy.
  • Exercising, or just moving quickly during your normal day can be tricky.
  • • The area under your breasts is prone to rashes and irritation.
  • • People look you in the boob instead of the eye.
  • • You’re not ashamed of your body, but you’re tired of your cup size being the main fact of your life.
